Would you like a video with that (data)?

Here’s something interesting:

A YouTube video made in conjunction with the paper, “A network framework of cultural history”, published in Science last year gets almost 1 million hits.  They sourced their data from Freebase.com, the General Artist Lexicon and the Getty Union List of Artist Names.

Wow … enjoy...

An introduction to the basics of Research Data (video)

Published on Oct 28, 20

An animated video explaining the basics of research data created by Louise Patterton, CSIR Library and Information Services, Research Data Management, Pretoria, South Africa.

"This video is recommended background material for students planning to attend a workshop on research data management. Feedback from previous workshops have indicated that many workshop attendees do not have a clear concept of what research data entails, and have no experience of working with research data. This animated video has as its purpose the explanation of the basics of research data, in a simplistic, entertaining and interesting manner. It is hoped that the information contained in the video will better prepare research data novices for a future research data management course/workshop."

There was one I didn't use but it's a fantastic 3 part animation about a data management horror story from NYU. Funny and terrifying at the same time. You may have seen it as it's been out for a while:
