The Department of Industry and Science has recently completed a review of the National Survey of Research Commercialisation where "research
engagement" data has been identified as an important source to measure university-industry collaboration.
The report states that by 2017,
"Government will look for ways to identify the
classification of research [administrative] data by using for example,
the ANZSRC and working with other Australian Government departments and
agencies to integrate unique researcher IDs (ORCID)
and organisational IDs (OpenCorporates) into existing datasets."
